NORTH SHORE MALA

The North Shore Mala is inspired by the famous North Shore of Oahu. One of my favorite daytime excursions here on Oahu is to take a trip to the North Shore where there is a little bit of Old Hawaii charm and lots of cute quaint shops to browse. Usually, we'll take a day to shop and make sure we have time for lunch and a stop at Matsumoto's for shave ice afterward. No trip to the North Shore is complete without heading out to see the famous beaches and one of my favorites to stop at is Waimea Bay with it's large white sand beach and cove. Being a famous surf spot, you can either find a calm day at the beach to catch some sun, salt and sea; or if there's surf conditions be in a treat to see massive waves breaking. This is where the famous Eddie Aikau surf competition is held when the waves get high enough! Either way, it's a sight to behold. On the way back home, I like to stop at a little beach pullout by the side of the road at a little beach called Laniakea where there are more often than not, sea turtles basking on the sand. This mala reminds me of those days, with a little bit of sand left between the toes and sparking lights glinting off the water. There's even a little bit of color that reminds me of some of that shave ice. 

I am happy. 

The North Shore Mala is a hand knotted Mala made with 8 mm Fluorite, Pearwood, Angel Aura Quartz, and Golden Mother of Pearl beads totaling 108 in number. A Larimar coin is used a a top marker and two small shells, collected at Oahu's North Shore, are used as side markers placed after the 27th stations in the Tibetan style in this piece to gently remind you where you are in your meditation and mantras as well as bring a natural flow to the piece.  The piece is hand knotted and finished with a larger matching local North Shore Shell guru and finished with a custom blended silk tassel handmade by me. Made with aloha, light and intention for you.
