MERCURY MALA - PLANETS SERIES

The Mercury Mala is the first of a series of malas celebrating the planets. I’ve been planning this series for almost 2 years and am excited to bring the first to you! Mercury is the planet closest to the Sun and we will have a very important event coming up later this year on November 11, 2019 as we will experience a Transit of Mercury as it will pass across the face of the Sun as seen from our vantage point on Earth. The visible passage of Mercury across the solar disc is a rare astronomical event that only happens around thirteen times per century. Mercury will be in retrograde at this time. Usually, Mercury is completely hidden from view during its retrogrades, but on that day, it is revealed. This event will happen in a special zone of Scorpio and will gives all things affected by Mercurial energy such as communications, local travel, and commerce a temporary boost of power and protection. We have the chance to witness this in a way seldom possible. This may translate as a special opportunity for inner growth and upward mobility. I chose the elements of this mala to represent the planet itself, which is moon like with a highly cratered surface. It has little atmosphere being so close to the Sun and under the influence of the solar winds. I also chose elements that represent the fiery nature of Mercury and the effects that is has on helping us transform. We often think of Mercury in times of retrograde, but it has effects on us at all times supporting many positive attributes, especially related to intellect and wisdom. This is a wonderful planet to help us in understanding the duality of ourselves and accepting that we are multifaceted beings that must acknowledge all sides in order to grow.

The Mercury Mala is made with 8 mm genuine Labradorite, Carnelian, matte Red Tiger’s Eye, and matte Black Druzy beads. Bronzite top marker and Rainbow Moonstone side markers are placed at the 27th stations in the Tibetan style in this piece to gently remind you where you are in your meditation and mantras as well as bring a natural flow to the piece. The piece is hand knotted and finished with an incredibly stunning Rutilated Quartz guru. It is finished with a tassel handmade by me. Made with loving intention for you.
