LIME IN THE COCONUT MALA

The Lime In The Coconut Mala might first seem like an unusual name, but it made a lot of sense to me after it came to mind. First inspired by the colors of this piece, it made me instantly happy and I felt uplifted. The Stichtite in Serpentine in this piece found its way to me from a wonderful woman I met online who is a fellow maker and now someone I consider a friend. I was admiring one of her pieces that she had made with these beads, and, being from Australia, she spontaneously offered to get some for me from her supplier so that I could create! I was so touched by such a wonderful loving gesture. That is what this piece embodies. Love and friendship, being kind unconditionally, those random acts of kindness that really make a difference, and having the ability to live a little lighter at times. Living on an island, its not hard to take in a little bit of that way of living naturally and this piece celebrates that lightness of being. The vintage Amber guru in this piece was found in a tiny shop on my recent trip to Molokai, and so also embraces this energy. I am hoping that this piece brings, love, happiness and lightness to her forever home.

The Lime In The Coconut Mala is made with 8 mm matte Tiger’s Eye, Lemon Chrysoprase, Citrine, and 10 mm Stichtite in Serpentine, beads totaling 108 in number. Markers are placed after the 27th positions in the Tibetan style in this piece to gently remind you where you are in your meditation and mantras as well as bring a natural flow to the piece. The piece is finished with a vintage Amber guru that I acquired on my trip to Molokai. The mala is hand knotted by me and finished with a custom blended tassel, also hand made by myself.
