HONU BEACH MALA

The special pattern on this Larimar piece reminded me of the intricate patterns on the back of the turtle, or Honu in Hawaiian. I wanted to express the beauty of this peaceful animal and the magic that they bring to us in the Honu Beach Mala. Just recently a clutch of Ridley Sea Turtles hatched on one of the beaches here in Hawaii. While I have never seen them dig themselves out of the sand and scurry to the sea, I can imagine the excitement of the people that got to witness this rare event. The Honu represents longevity, and in many cultures the world is thought to be supported by a turtle or turtles. The Turtle Spirit is is about walking our path in peace and sticking to it with determination and serenity. Slow moving on Earth, yet also incredibly fast and agile in water, turtle wisdom encourages one to take a break from busy lives and look around or within for more grounded, long-lasting solutions. Traditionally, the turtle is symbolic of the way of peace, whether it’s inviting us to cultivate peace of mind or a peaceful relationship with our environment. Imagine this Honu swimming in the sea close to the beach with the sparkling rays of sun refracting in the water and causing light to dance on its shell. The Honu Beach Mala is made with 8 mm genuine Hemimorphite, Larimar, faceted Picasso Jasper, Baltic Amber, Honey Gold Tiger’s Eye, and Citrine beads. Citrine markers are placed at the 27th stations in the Tibetan style in this piece to gently remind you where you are in your meditation and mantras as well as bring a natural flow to the piece. The piece is hand knotted and finished with one of the most beautiful Larimar gurus I have found. Made with loving intention for you.
