FIBONACCI CHAKRA MALA

The Fibonacci Chakra Mala is one of my favorite malas. I am offering them here, made on each occasion with different mixes of gemstones as I am inspired to represent the chakras.

While contemplating the reason that certain numbers, such as 108, rise to importance in cultures, I realized that following the Fibonnaci numbers (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21), with the guru as 0, you can make a 108 bead mala and my mind was in awe. The Fibonacci sequence is a pattern of numbers that defines organic growth.  This sequence can be observed in animal and plant life, the human body, and can also be attributed to success in life. This pattern occurs by adding the previous number to the current one and repeating the cycle (1+2 =3; 3+2 =5; 5+8 =13; 8+13 =21, and so on). Throughout history, many great minds have sought to find the connection between the underlying symmetry of reality and geometric patterns in nature. This definition of divine proportion takes us back to what is known as the golden ratio and is part of sacred geometry. Once we start looking for it, we see it everywhere. As you enter the world of Sacred Geometry you begin to see as never before the wonderfully patterned beauty of Creation. The molecules of our DNA, the cornea of our eye, snow flakes, pine cones, flower petals, diamond crystals, the branching of trees, a nautilus shell, the star we spin around, the galaxy we spiral within, the air we breathe, and all life forms as we know them emerge out of timeless geometric codes. Viewing and contemplating these codes allow us to gaze directly at the lines on the face of deep wisdom and offers up a glimpse into the inner workings of the Universal Mind and the Universe itself. Sacred Geometry takes on another whole level of significance when grounded in the experience of self-awareness.

The Chakras were the perfect choice for the Fibonacci pattern as each of the first 7 sections represent each Chakra individually and then the 8th, all 7 Chakras in sequence. It is not a coincidence to me that the numbers worked out for this arrangement. As the energy centers in our bodies, the Chakras are where our life forces flow and we strive for balance and alignment. This mala is the perfect tool for helping us along that endeavor.

This Fibonacci Chakra Mala is made with 8 mm genuine Garnet, Orange Carnelian, Citrine, Malachite, Larimar, faceted Chevron Amethyst, and Kunsite beads totaling 108 in number. There are markers placed after each of the Fibonacci numbers to mark their moments.  The piece is finished with a lovely Tiger's Eye guru bead and a custom blended golden silk tassel handmade by me.
