BEACHCOMBING MALA

The Beachcombing Mala is one that is one that came from a potential custom request. Though that customer and I moved on to other ideas, I was still so in love with this combination, that I had to make the mala come to life. This mala is about the beauty that you can find when you are taking time to look. Finding treasures is one of life's little joys. It's the excitement of the search and the absolute thrill that one feels when they've found a prize. Here, I've collected beads that reminded me of what you may find on a beachcombing trip. Sea glass, shells, and a bauble or two. This mala is a little bit of beach sand and treasure to take with you where ever you go. The guru is a locally collected shell from the North Shore of Oahu.

The Beachcombing Mala is a hand knotted Mala made with 8 mm Green and Blue Frosted Glass beads, Lampwork Glass beads, polished and matte Tridacna Shell beads, Sandalwood, Shiva Eye beads and Shells, totaling 108 in number. Decorative patina and Abalone inlayed Rosewood markers are placed after the 27th positions in the Tibetan style in this piece to gently remind you where you are in your meditation and mantras as well as bring a natural flow to the piece.  The piece is hand knotted and finished with a gorgeous Oahu North Shore collected guru shell and a custom blended silk tassel handmade by me.
